So it has been a while since my last post - sorry! But I have legitimate reasons as to why - my mom and sister finally came out to visit us! Woot! I loved being able to show them my new city, our tiny apartment, the architecture, the history, the public transportation (even though they got caught in the Metro doors!), the greenery, even the humidity! Needless to say, I had the best time seeing my family. I love my boyfriend, so very much, but we are really all each other has here, and being someone that is very connected with her family, these last 4-5 months away have been hard. It's easy to get swept up in the excitement of newness, with jobs, friends, surroundings, but when you are with people that really know you and love you in spite of all that - it's so reassuring, healing almost. Anyway, we did the typical DC tourist stuff, monuments, museums, the metro. But we did some other fun stuff too, like going to Rita's for some yummy Italian ice, walking Georgetown and Foggy Bottom to see the art scattered about in the neighborhoods, and spending plenty of time with our kitties - boy were they missed!

Thank you mom and Em. I am so lucky that you love me so well. I'm sorry for crying when we had to say good-bye. I know we will see each other soon, and I honestly can't wait for that :)
Great pictures - it looks like you all had a wonderful time! When my sister moved to Cali - we decided to skype a lot and that has helped. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! We def had a great time! We decided when they were out here that FaceTime needs to be a more regular thing in our lives - i'm not sure I'm ready to explain Skype to my mom :)
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so purdy! Glad you had a great time!
